Alicia García-Holgado received a degree in Computer Sciences (2011), an M.Sc. in Intelligent Systems (2013) and a PhD (Cum Laude) (2018) from the University of Salamanca, Spain. She is Associate Professor (Profesora Contratada Doctora) in the Department of Computer Science. She is member of the GRIAL Research Group of the University of Salamanca since 2009, where she currently leads the research line "Social Responsibility and Inclusion". Her research is related to the development of technological ecosystems for knowledge and learning processes management in heterogeneous contexts, and the promotion of diversity and inclusion in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics), with a particular focus on engineering and technology. She is a member of the Negotiating Committee of the II Equality Plan of the University of Salamanca. She is also a board member of the Women in Computing Committee of the Scientific Society of Spanish Informatics and sub-coordinator of the CLEI (Latin American Centre for Computer Science Studies) Community for Latin American women in computing. She is a member of IEEE (Women in Engineering, Education Society and Computer Society), ACM (and ACM-W) and AMIT (Spanish Association of Women Researchers and Technologists).
